My favorite Christian biography

If I were able to save only three books, it would be the Holy Bible, (this book) In the Footsteps of a Prophet, and The First 30 Years: A Journey of Faith about Kenneth and Gloria Copeland. The Copelands studied Kenneth Hagin's sermons inside and out. Jerry Savelle studied Hagin and the Copelands...but he wrote down all the principles and main points of the most powerful sermons for us to have at our fingertips.

Jerry Savelle is a humble servant of God. He's a man of obedience. He wanted to be working with cars, but God chose the wife for him, the life work for him, and he surrendered himself so humbly and willingly to that. It is simply the most powerful book I've read about Christianity, and how each and everyone of us can know the joy of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and how we can experience the love of God in on a level we'd never thought before. Perceptions of aboriginal life have been shaped largely by non-Native accounts that offer limited views of Swampy Cree history and record little beyond the social and economic interaction that was part of life in the fur trade. The stories in this collection provide Cree perspectives on northern life and history, and represent the legacy of a younger generation of aboriginal people.

About the Author
JAMES A. HENRETTA is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Maryland, College Park. His publications include The Evolution of American Society, 1700-1815: An Interdisciplinary Analysis; “Salutary Neglect”: Colonial Administration under the Duke of Newcastle; Evolution and Revolution: American Society, 1600-1820; The Origins of American Capitalism; and an edited volume, Republicanism and Liberalism in America and the German States, 1750-1850. His most recent publication is a long article, “Charles Evans Hughes and the Strange Death of Liberal America,” (Law and History Review, 2006), derived from his ongoing research on The Liberal State in America: New York, 1820-1975. REBECCA EDWARDS is a Professor of History at Vassar College. Her research interests focus on the post-Civil War era and include electoral politics, environmental history, and the history of women and gender roles. She is the author of Angels in the Machinery: Gender in American Party Politics from the Civil War to the Progressive Era (1997) and New Spirits: Americans in the "Gilded Age," 1865-1905 (Second Edition 2010). She is currently working on a biography of women's rights advocate and People's Party orator Mary E. Lease. ROBERT O. SELF is an Associate Professor of History at Brown University. His research focuses on urban history, the history of race and American political culture, post-1945 U.S. society and culture, and gender and sexuality in American politics. His first book, American Babylon: Race and the Struggle for Postwar Oakland, won four professional prizes, including the James A. Rawley prize from the Organization of American Historians (OAH). He is currently at work on a book about gender, sexuality, and political culture in the United States from 1964 to 2004.

Not a bad read for a textbook

I'm not sure I am qualified to review a History Textbook, it's not like I am just buying up and reading volumes of history for my own critiquing or pleasure.

In all seriousness, I purchased this book because I had to have it for my History 202 class. The teacher used this book exclusively as the resource material for the course. I found at times the viewpoints on events to be fairly subjective, connecting together a cause and effect, or an action and subsequent reaction in a very black and white fashion. I realize that the burden of covering a significant event or happening within a short page or two can lead to some generalizations or loss of nuance, so it can be excused. Maybe that tendency is my beef with History books in general after all, and not a shortcoming of this book.

With that being said, I enjoyed some portions of this text for the straightforward way in which it presents history.

My husband signed up for some college classes. With the price of.college books being extemely outrageous, I came here to find a decent prices book. This book was not only decently priced but in the exact condition it was described as. Maybe a little better. Thank you!! Will definitely buy from again

This is a very good history textbook. History books are hard to read, but this one delivers as far as layout and style. The best history book I've had in college by far.

Following on from his BS and MS at Cornell University, Marc completed a PhD at Michigan State University and an MBA at the University of Tampa. His career has embraced all aspects of solid waste management, and he has directed engineer’s feasibility reports for nearly two dozen public works projects, totaling $1.2bn in project financing. His name is well known in the field of Waste-to-Energy, where his consultancy work has covered feasibility studies on more than 50 facilities worldwide, operations assessments, and advising on key procurement decisions.

is the founder of Deltaway Energy, Inc, San Francisco. He has 20 years experience in the municipal sold waste-to-energy plant design and operation field with six years in Europe, 12 years in the USA, and two years in Asia.
Francois holds mechanical engineering and MBA degrees, as well as a WTE chief operator certificate from the ASME/EPA in the USA.
